I hate Running- Week three

So this week I was on holiday but I still kept up my runs. The layout this week was as follows; 90 sec run, 90 sec walk, 3 min run, 3 min walk, 90 sec run, 90 sec walk, 3 min run. As usual it started and finished with a five minute walk.

These runs were HARD. I don’t know if it was the weather or my asthma or the numerous hills but oh damn. Those runs were hard. It was really demotivating seeing lots of other runners where I was staying. They seemed so effortless, like they weren’t tired at all. I looped round and saw one runner twice and she looked like this was a walk in the park for her. It didn’t make me anymore motivated to run, in fact the opposite. I felt like I wasn’t making any progress. I know after three weeks I can’t be upset that I wasn’t running 5k with ease but it still didn’t feel good to be out of breath after 90 seconds!

As usual for me the second run was by far the hardest of the week. I make sure that I leave a rest day between my runs so that I am rested but the second one always seems the hardest. I think it may be time to switch up my playlist so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

I offered to run with a friend this week but she politely declined. I feel like someone to keep me company would help but I am learning that people enjoy to run at their own pace and enjoy the mental headspace, so for now I shall carry on running solo.

Body wise I am not seeing any changes. I’ve not really been paying much attention to my diet and just eating as I see fit. My calves are definitely feeling more toned but that is probably all I have noticed thus far.

So yeah three weeks running and I still hate every minute of it. Here’s to hoping week four is a whole lot better!
